Weather Related Honesty

OK, I hit the wrong button before posting my comment. The authors said, "The bagel data also reflect how much personal mood seems to affect honesty. Weather, for instance, is a major factor."

Are you more honest when you're in a better mood?

I think that I am basically the same level of "honestness" whether I am in a good or bad mood. However, my views on whether a situation deserves my honesty is definitely tainted by my mood. I might be more prone to a lower level of honesty, ie Paying later for the bagels when I am in a bad mood.

Oh, good point Sister Chris. 'views on whether a situatation deserves my honesty'... I like that. I too think I basically have the same level of honesty for most situations -- but maybe a little less energy on gloomy days and therefore less motivation to do ANYTHING -- even the right thing!

But those gloomy days have a positive side -- such as, I love a rainy day where I can hole up in my house, percolate a cup of coffee and read a good book! Especially a bookclub chosen book!
